Dewy Golf is built on one idea: the phone should stay in your pocket. That means we collect only what we need to make the app work — and nothing more.
What we collect
When you use Dewy Golf, we may collect:
- Account information — your name and email address when you create an account.
- Round data — scores, hole-by-hole stats, and round timestamps that you record within the app.
- Location data — precise location (GPS) during a round, used to identify your course, measure distances and detect your shots. Location samples recorded during a round are stored with that round.
- Motion and health data — motion sensor readings from your iPhone and Apple Watch during a round, used to detect swings and improve shot detection. With your permission, Apple Watch records a workout (including heart rate) during your round, and the app can save rounds and steps to Apple Health.
- Device information — model, operating system version and app version of your iPhone and Apple Watch, plus their battery level and charging state at the start and end of each round. Used for crash diagnostics, compatibility and support (for example, if you contact us about battery use).
- Usage analytics — anonymous, aggregated usage events (for example, feature use, and rounds starting and ending, including battery change) to understand what's working. These are not linked to your account, and you can turn them off in Settings.
We do not collect payment information directly — purchases are processed through the Apple App Store under Apple's privacy terms.
How we use it
Your data is used to:
- Power the scorecard and round history features in the app.
- Sync your rounds across your devices via iCloud (if enabled).
- Diagnose crashes and improve app performance.
- Send you infrequent product updates if you opt in.
We do not sell your data. We do not use it to build advertising profiles. We do not share it with third parties except as described below.
Third-party services
Dewy Golf uses a limited number of third-party services:
- Apple iCloud — optional sync of your round data across devices. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Kit (email marketing) — if you join our waitlist or newsletter, your email address and any optional information you provide (such as platform interest) are stored in Kit, our email platform. Kit acts as a data processor on our behalf. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email we send. Kit's privacy policy is available at kit.com/privacy .
- Sentry (crash and error reporting) — crash reports and error diagnostics from the app, including device and app details, so we can find and fix problems. We don't send your name or email address to Sentry.
- TelemetryDeck (usage analytics) — the anonymous usage analytics described above. TelemetryDeck doesn't receive your name, email address or account ID.
- Mapbox (maps) — draws the course maps in the app. Map requests and related device data, which may include location, are processed by Mapbox under its own privacy policy.
If the app crashes, diagnostic logs may also be sent to us through Apple's standard crash reporting. Apart from the services listed here, no third party receives your data.
Data retention
Your round data is stored for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the app's Settings screen. Upon deletion, your data is permanently removed within 30 days. Device and battery information recorded for a round is kept with that round and deleted when the round is deleted.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us . We'll respond within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Significant changes will be communicated through the app or via email. Continued use of Dewy Golf after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
