As we get closer to summer the tee times keep getting earlier which is exactly my speed. If I'm waking up the course, sweeping the dew I'm happy. I played this morning first in line, listening to an audiobook about Bill Campbell and enjoyed having a little extra time to practice some shots.

While writing this in the Pro Shop watching a group of about 50 seniors tee off and love how Pete -the golf shop manager- seems to know everyone's name by memory. Impressive.

Winters in Colorado have limited days of play, so when I'm sitting back dreaming of playing I like to watch some of these films/documentaries. I'm good for watching The Greatest Game Ever Played and The Legend of Bagger Vance at least twice a year.

While I will never intentionally swing into a group, sometimes errors happen. I asked my now father-in-law permission to marry my wife after a game where I hit into a group of the opposite hole. I'll always remember the other golfer walking towards me huffing and puffing; my father-in-law saying "you better go say sorry."

FORE: When you accidentally hit into another group
Golf Etiquette: What to Do When You Accidentally Hit Into Another Group Golf is a sport rooted in tradition, respect, and courtesy. One of the most serious breaches of that etiquette is hitting into another group — whether it’s because they were still in range ahead of you or your shot

I'd argue my middle game is the strongest if I stay on the fairway, it's also the area I feel the best. Learn how to reduce the amount of strokes you have before the green.

Many golfers are out there for the fun of the game. If you keep score, and want to play by the rules for consistent and fair play you will want to know when you can get relief.

When Can You Take Relief on the Golf Course? A Guide to the Rules
In golf, knowing when and how you can take relief is just as important as mastering your swing or reading the green. The Rules of Golf, governed by the USGA and The R&A, provide clear guidance on situations where players are entitled to relief—meaning a free or penalty

All general admission ticket holders will receive free food and non-alcoholic beverages at this year's PGA Championship, but this newly introduced strategy might make the PGA of America even more money than before. There are a ton of benefits to the all-inclusive model: • Enhances the fan experience • Shorter checkout lines and wait times • Positions the tournament as fan-focused & innovative • Distinguishes the PGA Championship from other majors But let's do some back-of-the-napkin math... 200,000 average attendees x $200 average ticket price ————————— $40 million in ticket revenue Then, if we add in $20 per fan for concessions, that's $44 million. But here's what it looks like for the all-inclusive model... 200,000 average attendees x $250 average ticket price ————————— $50 million in ticket revenue There are some other expenses, but the bottom line is clear. Not only does the all-inclusive model provide a better fan experience, but ticket demand is so strong that the PGA Championship makes millions more by hiding these costs in the ticket price. Crazy!
